actually, now that you mention things like that, I HAVE broken a few more things...I somehow cracked the brake mount on my Triggers forks adn I've snapped chains too...the last one was just after I finished a session on some tennis courts at the beach..took like two cranks away from the place and BAM! knee into the bars! lucky the bike shop wasn't too far away, a short walk there and I was set and could ride home!

I think 3 riders broke chains during the 10minute Grand Prix parade earlier in the year. I found that rather amusing.

yes, yes... granted...

There was still plenty of post in the frame, (it went in way below the top tube) there just would have been that little too much leverage on the top part, so hey presto... snappo.

Just you mind those bars of yours kit. [Image Can Not Be Found]

haha yeah, big worry is if it's not below the top tube you risk damaging the frame, I remember seeing this mongoose that was on like a 45 deg angle with a triple clamp and like a post longer than that intact, i have a feeling it was a layback to, haha, it was rooted, but atleast it was only a cheap mongoose.

Agreed about it being much better than snapping a frame. like a crumple zone or break away point.

hmm, so you gonna just reuse it or reweld it or something, or just sell it off.

Yeah, the frame had no damage at all... I would be pissed if I had to let the RIP rest in peace that quick....

You want the post? You can have it, 10bucks for post to QLD and it's yours.
It should still be o.k... if you want a short post that is...

And flatnatics.... fark me.... be careful man, you are in real danger of completely fucking your frame, try some high speed upside down dork wheelies all day and see how long it lasts.

maybe, how high is it at the highest part of the base? as i may try machining it back again.
Shit i forgot about it being your rip to, fuck. [Image Can Not Be Found]
One other major issue is if you can't get it back out of your frame, and then you stuck with a little bit of post in your frame.

I've snapped one new style Intac and cracked the head off an old style one too. They are just cheap ali posts - you get what you pay for. They lasted me quite long before they busted. If you really care about light and need strength then you're looking at shelling out for a Thomson to be honest. A lot of other posts have a beam going up through the middle to make them stronger - don't know if they are long enough for you though. The longest they get these days is about 220mm I think(?)

Tina you break stuff because of what you do on it. You just don't take care of it. Your chains break because you install them without a chain tool and then sprocket brick walls.

If you run your chain pretty tight it tends to stretch until it just snaps one day. When I changed my chains in the past I found that they had often stretched a whole link in length. I have one of those IZUMI chains from Pat and I totally trust it. It's heavier than your average but I the feeling of security it gives me.

^^^

Yeah, the post lasted quite a while,

I originally ran a thomson post and the only reason why I changed to an (offset) intac post was to pull the seat back a bit more.... giving the effect of having a slightly longer toptube.

My bike is going to feel hella shorter (which is the opposite of what I want) if I go back to my old thomson.... [Image Can Not Be Found]

Fark!!!!

I run my seat pretty low and I'm in the market for a new post as mine has cracks in it. Let me know if you don't sell it as I'll buy it for $10
