if they welded the BB so the slots were on the top side rather than on the bottom i think would work out a bit better. the longer seat tubes are a nice touch as well... but hopfully they havnt made the tubing above the TT of thinner tubing, id rather bend a seat post than a seat tube. thoes frames are worth the wait altho that coster looks a bit bland, anyone got any details on it? is it a new system or jsut a sealed 10mm nankai copy?

But [b:25xificj]mark my words,[/b:25xificj]... those VERTICAL slots in the BB are a fucking huge mistake.....[/quote:25xificj]
they should have done each slot in 2 slots instead of one long one... see how they go hey??? they head tube ones are sweet as though...
reckon they could of put some in the seat tube as well...[/quote:25xificj]
Yeah, the headtubes slots look pretty cool.... But on the bb there is no horizontal strength what-so-ever left in that bb shell. [Image Can Not Be Found] I [b:25xificj]seriously[/b:25xificj] think you could bend that bb with your bare hand.
Yeah, I feel ya.... If they machined two separate slots instead of each long one, it would be an arse load stronger... I would have horizontally slotted it (inbetween the end of the lefthand and right hand threads).
You know when something just doesn't look right??!!!?? [Image Can Not Be Found]

haha, i see your point ginny, fuck, hmm i guess just hope nobody puts to much stress through it.
hell it barely looks like there's much holding it on to begin with, maybe it's a breakaway bb shell for crankless riders?

screw in brake mounts, grub nut gyro tabs.... bolt in BB's? i think not! [Image Can Not Be Found]
i dont see you been able to bent it in your hands... its still a CNC'ed bit on metal which is going to be strong, and the thickening's on the end will take the moment load and transfer it into the frame.
but i know what you mean ginny... it just doesnt look right, drop your bike on the wrong point and bend one of thoes fiins and say good by to your frame.

Yeah , I agree, those bb slots dont look that strong. If you drop the bike alot from hitchhiker type tricks , where all the weight impacts onto the cranks, eventually you will bend the frame. An alternative would be to only cnc mill through 3/4 of the tubes wall thickness instead of all the way through. This would give a similar weight saving, but still be strong enough to handle a bit of abuse.
I like the newconexion and the superpower, but I'm not keen on the palermo. The runkai looks like a nankai, but I'd like to see the guts of it.
I saw those slots in a frame in a ride magazine about 3 years ago, not KGB though, dont remember who invented it.
I have a psyconexion and love it, dont forget that Martti and Viki test ride their frames for a few months to find its flaws before they are sold to the general public, as do all rider owned companies.

the runkai is the same as those new sealed bearing taska hubs which is the same as the boo hub except ares has a 9t driver and the others have a 12t...
the main difference is the fact that the internal clutch spring is connected to the axle instead of a separate piece saving weight and also has an extra spring that pushes the clutch away from the driver helping it to disengage(this is why you need a tight chain with these hubs)...
so basically it is the same idea as a nankai, ares boo, khe, or any other coaster(except maybe the sym hub)...
which means the new taska(12t)/boo(9t)/runkai(?t) sealed hub is one of the best coasters around for quality as it has less internal parts to f##k up and saves the most weight(the khe is good but i hate those axle inserts)...
